New blog post: The unequal distribution of housing problems in Austria

In recent weeks, the corona pandemic has drawn increased attention to existing housing problems. For many people, retreating back into their homes to reduce infection also means having to get by with cramped living conditions, dark rooms, or noise more than usual. However, housing problems are unequally distributed. Not everyone is equally affected. The need to be more at home thus reproduces existing inequalities. I have calculated a housing problem index to visualize the unequal distribution of housing problems in Austria based on the EU-SILC 2018 survey. It allows for a statistically robust assessment which social groups are particularly affected.
